Eiso Kawamoto (1929-2010), one of the founders and President of IRM International Network for its entire history, exemplified the qualifications of IRM staff worldwide.

Profile:

  • Born in 1929 in Hiroshima, Japan
  • Graduated from Hiroshima Junior College in Science; entered Okayama Medical College; and proceeded to Tokyo University to major in both economics and business administration.
  • Upon graduation from the University, Mr. Kawamoto joined an international trading company where he was engaged in foreign exchange, import/export and corporate financing operations as well as trade regulations. Later, he was posted as the New York representative of the firm.
  • While in New York, he attended the Graduate School of Business at New York University to study marketing; the  knowledge he acquired there was applied to the business of opening markets for  various Japanese products in the U.S. and representing US companies in Japan.
  • His experience and career as a techno-economist was acquired through extensive involvement in international licensing arrangements along with the exploration and identification of critical new technologies. Through an astute assessment of those technologies Mr. Kawamoto recognized  the opportunities and potential for economic impact and commercial value possible in overseas marketing.
  • Establishing IRM Inc. , Japan’s first international business service enterprise, by organizing similar talents of various nationalities around him, was a natural course  considering  Kawamoto’s progressive experience and solidly-built career.
  • Besides IRM Inc. , Eiso Kawamoto launched U.S. Nippon Communications Network in New York and Washington D.C. to broadcast programming from Japan in English to cross-cultural audiences in both cities. [Learn More]
